Born in Tampa Florida on February 27th, David Gail tried his hand at acting in the Miami area in his early 20's. During the summers he would audition for small acting roles, and hang out at the beach on his time off. These roles led David to a bigger interest in the theater. His first big audition, for a play called "FOOLS" by Neil Simon, landed him the lead role. His ability to adapt himself to make a role his own brought him credibility in the theatre. This gig gave him a hunger for doing more theatre. He took personal voice lessons and helped build sets for such shows as "A StreetCar Named Desire" and "Moonstar". Working full time as a marketing manager, David decided to quit his job and head
to Los Angeles in favor of a television acting career. His first job was a small role on "Growing Pains". From there he landed roles in "Robin's Hoods" and "The Round Table", two short-lived television programs. His big break came on the program "Beverly Hills 90210" in 1993 where he was cast as Shannon Doehrty's love interest, Stuart Carson. Although his character was not on the program for long (a total of 7 episodes),
it gave David a big viewing audience and the chance to grow in popularity. His next big break was in the Aaron Spelling nighttime soap opera, "Savannah", in which he played Dean Collins. This show aired from 1996-1997 and gave David much more exposure, as he was in the show for it's entire run. In 1999 he was cast as Joe Scanlon on "Port Charles", replacing Michael Dietz. Making the role his own for his entire year run, David left to move on to bigger and better things in the fall of 2000.
